At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California, we express our mission through our programs, which include six Ronald McDonald Houses in Bakersfield, Loma Linda, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Orange County and Pasadena. We also operate two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at CHOC Children’s Hospital in Orange and CHOC Children’s at Mission Hospital. Importantly, we are also one of very few Ronald McDonald House Charities chapters across the world that operates a cost-free, medically-supervised Camp for children with cancer and their families, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times.
We are a group based in Corona, CA that is ready, willing and able to help families experiencing critical/chronic medical issues that are devastating their family life. Mostly we provide meals so the families can feel supported and not go broke buying convenience foods or lose that family feeling that so many of us rely on to keep us bonded. As we become a larger group I know we will be able to help families in other ways.
Food Runners is a life skills program that provides the opportunity to serve others. Our youth volunteers expand their personal horizons beyond their immediate peer group to a larger community, their neighborhood, their city, and surrounding county areas.
Our Business: I started working in 1976 with my Father as a Mason doing fireplaces after school and continued working for him until my late 20’s. At which time left and started working in the Pool Industry in 1996. I enjoyed the business and started my own Pool Company a few years later.
The “Hidden Heroes Project” was an idea sparked by my wife Kim when she found out that the son of a childhood friend was diagnosed with a terminal illness and bravely fighting the most important battle of his life using the only tools he has…his smile and positive attitude. This touched her heart deeply and the “Hidden Heroes” project was born.
